Using online platforms, I offer digital mental health support, providing individually tailored, evidence based psychological therapies to adults during times of struggle.
My approach
At Therapy Gap I believe in the idiographic rather than the nomothetic. While society has evolved to focus on norms, in mental health norms do a poor job of describing the individual. Humans are complicated and many factors can lead to difficulties and many factors can maintain a person’s struggle. Many strengths and resources can also be present that lift people up and help overcome obstacles. By focusing on the individual, rather than symptoms and diagnoses, and understanding what it is that is creating issues in someone’s life, historical and current, we can choose particular strategies to begin to move out of old patterns and towards experiencing and accepting feelings, letting go of self stories and having insight into behaviours that are keeping us stuck as well as those that leave us feeling more engaged and alive.
Providing a safe space to pause and explore
All appointments take place on Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Zoom minimising travel time and allowing you to engage from where ever you feel most comfortable. In person appointments are not currently offered but let me know if you would like to be informed if this option becomes available.
